Test Approval Request- College Of Education

PLEASE NOTE:  TAR deadlines occur earlier than ETS regular registration deadlines. TAR does not operate during most holidays or Spring Break.

Eligibility to test requires admission to Teacher Education. If you are on a waiver, please call 825-2433.

Accuracy of the information submitted electronically is solely your responsibility. Any errors will delay your ability to register for state certification exams. Your name should be properly capitalized and appear exactly the way it should appear on your initial teaching certificate. 

TAR will communicate via your Islander email address if you are currently enrolled.  All content area required approvals will be obtained from designated program coordinators via email. TAR will email you when you submit your request and when your request has been approved and uploaded. 


Once you receive the email stating your information has been uploaded, you may begin the registration process by following the steps for registering for your exam at http://cms.texes-ets.org. You will ultimately render payment by credit card at the Educational Testing Service (ETS) site.

* I understand that request/approval to test is solely between myself and TAMUCC and involves evaluation of my transcript which may be time consuming.

* Once my information is uploaded, I understand I must set up an educator account with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) at: https://pryor.tea.state.tx.us. Creating my TEAL Account will assign a TEA ID# to me.

* I also understand I must set up an account with Educational Testing Service (ETS) at http://cms.texes-ets.org for the actual registration process. This account will require use of my TEA ID#.

* All information submitted to SBEC and ETS must match exactly.

* Finally, I understand I must then register and render payment by credit card to ETS for my requested exam at http://cms.texes-ets.org.

IF YOU ARE ALREADY CERTIFIED AND ADDING A CONTENT AREA BY EXAM ONLY (CERT by EXAM)  DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST VIA TAR.
